OK, this one is bad. Really bad.
There are two Spanish words that I always get confused between: padrastro and pederasta. Unfortunately, the first means ‘step-father,’ and the second means ‘paedophile.’
And yes, I do have a step-dad, which means I inevitably end up saying things like this:
“Me viene a visitar mi pederasta.”
Casually mention to people that your paedophile is coming to visit you and, rest assured, you’ll provoke some predictably stunned reactions…
